It is estimated that we lose an average of 100-150 hairs every day. In summer and autumn, this hair loss can increase to about 400 hairs, and is considered a normal figure, as it is part of seasonal hair loss.
If you've noticed that your hair has been falling out more than usual in the shower or on your pillow lately... don't worry, in most cases it's completely normal and even more so in autumn. Today, we tell you all the details about hair loss, take note.
For many people, the arrival of autumn brings with it increased hair loss, but there is no need to be alarmed as in most cases this hair loss is part of the hair cycle. This process is known as the follicular renewal cycle as it affects the hair follicles, which is where our hair grows and is made up of phases of growth and phases of hair loss, as we will see in detail below.
In this cycle, specialists state that hair does not fall out, but renews itself. They point out that all hair that falls out in autumn recovers and reappears after three or four months in a natural way.
The structure of hair
The structure of hair is universal, i.e. it is the same in all people regardless of hair color or type. Its structure is divided into two parts: the shaft, which is the visible and dead part, and the hair follicle, which is the internal, living part where the hair is born.
In addition, the hair has its own life cycle and each hair is a totally independent entity. This life cycle is divided into 3 phases:
✨ Anagen - 3 years: It is the phase of hair growth, where we increase 1cm per month approximately.
🌈 Catagen - 2 to 3 weeks: In this phase hair growth stops.
✂Telogen - 3 to 6 months: Once hair growth has stopped, the papilla shrinks and makes room for new hair growth within the follicle. Once the telogen phase is over and our hair returns to the anagen phase, the papilla reactivates, new hair grows and expels from the previous follicle: this is when hair loss is noticed.
When does hair fall out the most?
The seasons of the year influence the hair cycle of animals. With humans something similar happens, both the photoperiod (length of daylight) and the seasons hormonally change aspects that modify the telogen effluvium phase causing hair loss.
In temperate countries, this hair loss is more evident in autumn and spring due to changes in natural light. These variations affect the body's rhythm, alternating the rhythms of hair growth and renewal. Even so, factors such as diet, hormonal alterations such as pregnancy, or taking certain medications can also cause hair loss.
What to do to stop hair loss
💇🏼♀️ Cut it off:
Cutting, even minimally, and more so after the summer, will get the hair to gain strength and vitality. And it will keep the ends healthy and beautiful.
🥑 Pamper your hair with your favorite Mask
It is very important to care for and pamper your hair after the summer. You can take advantage of the return to routine to dedicate a day of pampering and relaxation in full rule. We recommend applying your mask from mid-lengths to ends and leaving it on for as long as possible during your quiet time. This way, while you are doing other tasks, you can take advantage of the time and moisturize your hair.
👩🏽🍳 A balanced diet:
Maintaining a good, healthy and balanced diet is essential to achieve a correct functioning of the follicles and have healthy hair. The clearest example we have in hypocaloric diets, or in situations of iron deficit that end up leading to significant hair loss.
💖 Feed the hair from the inside to the outside:
The best thing to help our hair is to give it an extra ration of vitamins - especially A, group B and H (or biotin )- and sulfur-rich amino acids (cystine, methionine), essential for hair keratin. These active ingredients are found in our Sublime 10-31the moisturizing and reconstructing treatment that actsIt works by completely regenerating from the inside out, restoring the hair to a healthy state and rejuvenating the hair's appearance.
It deeply reconstructs the damaged structure of damaged and weakened hair, reintegrating proteins, increasing shine, softness, strength and moisture. It is proven that the deficit of these vitamins and amino acids cause hair loss and its mission is to enhance healthy hair growth.
💆🏽♀️ Perform circular massages:
With the help of your fingertips when washing your head, as these promote microcirculation.
⚡️ Use wide-tooth combs:
To avoid tugging and apply South Bondie to detangle your hair.
🔥 Avoid heat tools:
If using a blow dryer, do so at a minimum distance of 30 centimeters, with cool air. Before blow-drying, we recommend applying a small amount of South Bondi in the palm of your hand and spreading it evenly from mid-lengths to ends to help detangle hair and provide heat protection and softness.
It is important to reduce the use of hair straighteners, curling irons, etc. to maintain good hair health.
💦 Wash your hair with suitable, non-aggressive products:
Choose the shampoo that matches your hair. Our shampoos are free of sulfates, parabens, petrolatum, kerosene and a long list of ingredients that we decided not to use to avoid the makeup effect they produce on the hair.
